Medieval Times Dallas

Travel back in time to the 11th century; an era of king’s and queen’s, knights and castles, a  historical era known for its bravery, pageantry and honor.   You’ll need to go no farther than Medieval Times in Dallas, TX to experience this wonderful fun filled family trip to the past.

Adults and children alike have been enjoying this Dallas attraction since 1992.  Boasting over 3 million guests, plan on being one of the many families who have crossed over the drawbridge and enjoyed Dallas’ Medieval Times.  Before entering the Castle, enjoy nine acres of beautiful landscape.  The castle itself is a site to behold!  Children love the drawbridge, moat with its beautiful Koi fish and the breathtaking views of the castle’s towers.  Your family will remember this striking Spanish castle for years to come.

Guests are welcomed by King Alfonso and his daughter, Princess Esperanza.  Before being seated you will receive a colored crown that corresponds to the pavilion and knight you’ve bee assigned. During the upcoming tournament this is the knight your family will cheer on to victory!

As trumpets announce the beginning of the medieval ceremonies, be ready to sit down for a feast.  Enjoy four courses served by wenches and serfes including bread, chicken, ribs and more!  Be prepared to be a little messy…your time travel to the past means you’ll eat as they did, without silverware.  Included with this medieval meal are two rounds of drinks. If you’re interested in more beverages, a cash bar is available for your satisfaction.

The tournament of skill begins as the first course starts.  Courage is felt throughout the pavilion as knights prepare to defend their kingdom.  A flamboyant display unfolds with six knights participating in flag toss, ring pierce and javelin throws. The knights work to sharpen their skills for the upcoming battle in the hopes of winning the heart of Princess Esperanza.

After the games of skill are complete the Joust begins.  Knights donning armor atop their trusty steeds attempt to unseat their opponents on the first pass.  Once one of the knights has fallen from his horse the battle continues on foot.  It’s he who uses the medieval weapons best that will continue to the next round.  Look on in awe as swords and axes are swung and knights show their gallantry and skill until only one fearless knight is left standing.  In the end, you will be content that good triumphs over evil and peace is restored to the kingdom.
